| Proximity readers work by presenting a key-ring style tag to a reader to allow access. In simple terms it is an electronic key.
This technology is the most common form of access control and being fully programmable, a tag can be programmed with restrictions by time, day and date. For example, a tag may be issued to cleaners so they only have access to your building or home from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7 and 10 pm.
Each time a tag is presented to a reader, to allow access, the information can be recorded on a computer. Reports can be generated to find out who entered and left your building, and at what time.
Proximity Readers can be used as either a stand alone unit or as part of an integrated automation and security system.
